Dengue Vaccine : Panacea Biotech, one of the leading pharma companies in the country, is preparing to launch a dengue vaccine in the next 2-3 years. To achieve this goal, the company is working very fast on this project.

Excited about launching the first dengue vaccine in the country, Panacea Biotec Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Dr. Rajesh Jain said in an exclusive interview with CNBC-TV18 that the work of preparing the vaccine in collaboration with ICMR is progressing very well. The clinical trial of the vaccine has started on 14 August 2024.

The trial continues at 19 sites.
Dr. Jain said, "This is a third phase trial, which is being conducted at 19 sites across India. It will include more than 10,000 adults who will be given this vaccine. As of last week, we have immunized 400 people with this vaccine. The trial is going very well and we hope that this trial will achieve the target of immunizing 10,000 people by March 2025." He said that after the trial, the company will submit the efficacy results of the vaccine to the drug controller for approval of manufacturing the vaccine. Jain said, "After that, we must wait for approval, as this is an efficacy trial. It will be declared whether the vaccine trial is successful or not only after the indicators of the protocol. This result will be shared with the drug controller." Will be launched in the next 2 years When asked when the vaccine can be formally launched, Jain said, "I wish this work were in my hands. I want whatever we are saying and doing to be correct. We hope that in the next two years, we will be able to launch this vaccine in India as well as other countries. We have got the protocol approved by the drug authorities. We have to follow all the formalities and procedures related to the trial, which we are also doing. We hope that our vaccine will come in the market in the next two years." Talking about the new vertical of children's supplements, Dr. Jain said, “We believe that for a healthy child to get maximum response from vaccination, he should get the right kind of food. In today's environment, we see that the kind of food children eat does not provide them with proper nutrition. So we thought it was important that we strengthen their efforts by bringing nutritional drinks, which contain proteins, vitamins, minerals and micro nutrients, which are very important for their physical development. 

Along with increasing height, physical growth, mental development, strength of their bones and their muscles, everything is very important. This is very important for children, because only then they can succeed in their studies. Only then they can become better athletes. If they want to make a career in a certain field, then their overall development is necessary for this. Therefore, we have launched this entire range of children for children above two years of age in the month of June last year.
